KANO STATE OVERVIEW:

Kano State is part of North-Western Nigeria and the most populous state of the Nigerian Federation. Created in 1967 from part of the Northern Region, the legendary Kano Emirate was said to have been established around the AD 999 and it was named after Kano, a blacksmith of the Gaya tribe who settled in the area while sourcing for ironstone (from which iron can be smelted) around the Dalla Hill. The capital of Kano State is Kano with about 9 million people in population while the dominant language is hausa though the official language of business and administration is English.
