KOGI STATE OVERVIEW:

Kogi state was created out of the central area of Nigeria. It is famously called the confluence State in light of the fact that the juncture of River Niger and River Benue is at its capital, Lokoja, which is the first managerial capital of of post colonial Nigeria. Farming is the primary occupation and source of income, and the state likewise has coal, steel and other mineral deposits. The principal tribes are Ebira, Igala and Okun. The state was created in 1991 from parts of Kwara State and Benue State. There are three primary ethnic gatherings and dialects in Kogi: Igala, Ebira, and Okun which are all of the yoruba nation with different minorities like the Bassa ethnic group.
